Creating your own Medicine Drum

Creating your own medicine drum is a sacred journey of weaving intention, prayers, and personal gifts into your drum. This process is a birth of Self, an opportunity to connect deeply with Mother Earth and the elements. As you work with the animal hides, the tree for the hoop, and the energy of the Earth itself, you honor the life force that flows through all of creation.

This sacred act allows you to witness the unraveling and re-weaving of your heart’s song and spirit path, grounding you in the rhythms of nature and your inner truth.

The drum is a sacred tool for healing, transformation, and reconnection to ourselves and the natural world.

Its heartbeat, the first sound we hear in the womb, guides us back to the womb of Mother Earth, where we can heal, balance, and nurture ourselves. Drumming synchronizes brain hemispheres, creating altered states of consciousness that open the door to healing and wisdom.

Through rhythm, we reconnect to the primal vibration of the Earth, the pulse of life itself, linking our heartbeat to the heartbeat of the world.

This two-day ceremonial experience invites you to reflect, create, and deepen your connection to Mother Earth and the elements. During this journey, you’ll work with natural materials like Hoop Pine, Kangaroo, Goat, Deer or Horse Hide, and the drum beater I will craft for you!

As we work, we call on the earth, air, fire, and water to support the creation of your drum and its power.

A light lunch is provided both days, along with morning tea and refreshments on the second day. The time is also offered for learning how to connect and tune in to the drum’s energy to deepen your connection to the Earth’s rhythms and the healing power of the drum.
